About our art collection / art designer
We currently work with the two designers BBKen and Corri who started their creative work with bamboo in summer 2006. They went to rural areas full of bamboo forests and learnt from the traditional bamboo craftsmen about this magic natural material and arts technique. Their interior design background gave a new spin to bamboo design and their thinking of this material changed, especially how it can be implemented in our modern surroundings. We are delighted to present some of the masterpieces produced completely locally and manually by old and scarce craftsmen.
Take a look behind our "Retail solution" - collection
It is with much pride that we can say that most of our retail products are made by the hands and hearts of disabled craftsmen. This is an important step in our goal to not only high-quality goods but also to advance in the topics of corporate social responsibility. As in other countries there are certain tax-breaks for companies employing disabled workers. However there are strict requirements and tough controls. The requirements are many and complex. Most importantly each worker must have a long term contract and full benefits like insurance and retirement funds. If more than 25% of a factory's workforce is disabled people, then that factory will receive government support. Our factory has started the process and hopes to be certified as soon as possible, a process that takes usually around three years. We hope that our factory can achieve this next milestone faster to get government support that helps pay for insurance and retirement funds for disabled craftsmen. Our disabled craftsmen are very grateful for the opportunity to earn their own living. In some cases, they can make even nicer products than a man with two healthy hands. To a disabled person this job is more precious than to the average man. He does is with more pride, joy and attention to detail. So hiring disabled workers and delivering a high-quality product goes hand-in-hand. You as our customer will be glad to know that our bamboo retail solutions are not only a green product, but also manufactured in a socially responsible way.
